Turtle Heat Lamps
Turtle Heat Lamps
Do turtles need heat lamps? If you’ve ever wondered this, know that they are essential pet accessories to ensure your turtle stays healthy and comfortable in its environment. No matter how fancy your enclosure is, turtles need heat lamps too!
Turtle Tank Heat Lamps for a Natural Environment
Once you’ve sourced the kit you need from our pet living range, choose your turtle tank heat lamp. The ceramic basking light provides infrared heat to mimic natural heat from the sun, allowing your turtle to bask just as it would in its natural environment.
If you have a turtle aquarium, a heat lamp is one of the basic items you need in the kit. Creating an environment where your turtle can enjoy warmth means it can live as close to how it would in the wild.
For Your Turtle’s Health and Well-being
Because your turtle is a cold-blooded animal, it can’t generate its own internal heat. That’s why a turtle tank light is a much-needed piece of kit, allowing infrared heat to be absorbed through the skin to increase its body temperature, stimulate blood circulation, expand blood vessels, and promote overall health and well-being.
Your turtle also requires a separate lamp to provide light for other bodily processes. For example, your turtle needs light to generate vitamin D3, which helps with calcium absorption to maintain a healthy shell.
What Wattage Heat Lamp Works for Turtles?
If you have a smaller aquarium or enclosure with up to two turtles and a small basking area, choose a lower-wattage turtle heat lamp. A 50W or 75W turtle tank light is just perfect.
But if you have a bigger enclosure, more than two turtles, or require a larger basking area, opt for the 150W turtle light.
Make it Perfect for Your Pet!
Ensure your turtle’s habitat is complete with the right heat lamp for optimal health and comfort.
